How to Use Mapei S948 & S955 Wood Flooring Adhesives with a B11 Trowel
In this video, we show how to properly use Mapei S948 and S955 adhesives with a B11 notched trowel — from prep to fitting. These MS polymer adhesives are ideal for engineered, parquet, and solid wood floors, offering strong grab and long-lasting elasticity.
Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Dry Fit the Area
Lay out the boards first without adhesive to check your layout, alignment, and expansion gaps.
2. Mark Out the Position
Use a straight edge or pencil line to mark the working section you'll glue. This helps you stay accurate and avoid over-spreading.
3. Uplift the Boards
Carefully lift the dry-fitted boards and place them aside in order.
4. Spread Adhesive with B11 Trowel
Using a B11 notched trowel, spread a thin, even layer of Mapei adhesive over the marked area. Work in manageable sections to avoid over-drying.
5. Relay the Boards
Press the boards firmly into the adhesive and tap into place if needed. Check for alignment as you go.
